It
is as small as it looks. There were two prototypes. The one that did all
the flying (like 10 hours total) is at Wright-Pat. The other is just down
the road from me between Omaha and Lincoln at the museum formerly known
as the SAC Museum. |

This is
a Czechmaster resin kit of the plane. MPM has issued it in plastic - the
same master was used for both kits. I scratchbuilt the stand from Plastistrut
and spare bits.

The
diminutive size of the Goblin is obvious in this comparison to the Sabre.
Still, it might have been a hoot to fly. And though not talked about much,
it led directly to the GRB-36s that ferried the RF-84K's to the border of
the Soviet Union. |
