After
being taken on charge as the P-64. Insignia is replaced with US marking
and bottom is painted gray.
The plane
can be done with or without guns in this scheme.

Mid-war
paint scheme with stars and bars with red surround. Notice also that a
yellow serial has been added on the tail and an aircraft number is painted
on the nose.

Late war
scheme in natural metal. By this time, the cowling has been modified.
The fairings for the guns are removed and the carburetor intake is extended
forward for the length of the cowling.

P-64 as
painted when returned from Mexico in the late 50's.

This
scheme is probably a result of my poor memory or bad color reproduction.
If the plane was painted like this, it had to be for a short period between
its return from Mexico and 1962. |

The P-64
