CURTISS XP-62

The XP-62 was a high altitude, pressurized fighter designed around the R-3350. It was intended as an escort for the B-29 but, like most other Curtiss wartime project, was redundant by the time it appeared.

Another kit bash:

-tail pieces, landing gear and inner wings are from an Airfix SB2C

- Outer wing panels from yet another Monogram P-40N

-Engine and cowl sanded down from an Airfix B-29 cowling

P-40 outer wing panels and Helldiver tailplanes are more apparent in this shot.

This thing was a beast as this comparison to the P-47D shows.

Another P-47D comparison shot.
