NORTH AMERICAN P-64

The P-64 was a low cost fighter based on the AT-6. Six built for Siam were seized by the US Government, redesignated P-64 and used as advanced trainers.

This is the new model from Xotic Kits.

UPDATED!

Of course, the Australians also based their fighter on the AT-6 and the P-64 bears more than a passing resemblance to the Boomerang.

This was modified from a Heller T-6G kit. For years, the wings were shown as modeled here. This was true of the model NA-50 sold to Peru, but not the NA-68 for Siam. The squared off "Mustang" style wing is apparent in the top photo.

Side image of my original P-64. I will rebuild this into a NA-50 in Peruvian markings by replacing the cowling and modifying the rudder.
