NORTHROP XP-79 Flying Ram

The P-79 was one of the first jet fighters and was intended to be a point interceptor fighter that knocked down its targets by ramming their tail surfaces.

Boy, do I want that job...

This is the KR Models vacuform. A resin kit is currently available from RS Models.

A true flying wing, the XP-79 used the bellows wing type controls last seen on XP-56. The prototype crashed on its maiden flight and the pilot was killed. The experiment was not repeated.
